    • What Is CAM
      • The Philosophy and Meaning of Wholism

        • Holism (the word is derived from the Greek holos, meaning “whole”) is the idea that everything in the universe is greater than, and different from, the sum of its parts.
Holistic medicine is an approach to health that aims to deal with the patient as a whole and not merely with physical symptoms. It takes into account the psychological state of an individual, social and environmental factor, and an indefinable dimension known as “spirit”.
It is useful not only for patients who have physical or mental problems but also for healthy people who wish to improve themselves and rediscover their real selves. Holistic Health approaches are a guide to wellness & well being.
Non-holistic view, is an analytic and delicate view to identify everything; and the holistic view sees the world as a unified whole that is a system showing the structural form of the creation.
These are achievable when the body and mind work in harmony; energy and enthusiasm are abundant, the body functions efficiently and the mind is alert. We can reach them after a health program based on an individual’s specification and abilities. In fact we can make lifestyle adjustments that will lead to restoring and enhancing wellness and well-being.

Each type of complementary therapy has its own diagnostic labels, that conventional medicine dose no recognize. However, if it can be shown that the diagnosis leads to effective treatments that relieve pain and enable people to cope. The mainstream medicine may be eventually incorporating them.

Holistic as a whole made up of interdependent parts.
You are most likely to hear these parts referred to as 1) the mind/ body connection, 2) mind/ body/ spirit, or 3) physical/ mental/ emotional/ spiritual aspects. When this meaning is applied to illness, it is called holistic medicine and includes a number of factors, such as 1) dealing with the root cause of an illness, 2) increasing patient involvement, and 3) considering both conventional (allopathic) and complementary (alternative) therapies.
Holistic as a synonym for alternative therapies.
By this definition, "going holistic" means turning away from any conventional medical options and using alternative treatment exclusively. This meaning mainly relates to illness situations, and sometimes is used for controversial therapies.

        • The American Holistic Health Association introduces two common definitions of Holistic view as follow:
