Acupressure is essentially similar to acupuncture, but without the needles. It is also a very old healing body therapy originating from China. It is based on the yin/yang principles of traditional Chinese medicine. It is probably several thousands of years old. The most common forms of acupressure are Shiatsu, Jin Shin Do and Process Acupressure. Acupressure overall is a relaxing form of body therapy. Also, Reflexology is an ancient healing art whose origins have been traced back thousands of years in Egypt, India, China, and Native America. Pressure is applied on reflexes in the hands, feet, and ears that directly correspond to every part of the body. As tension is released at the reflex point, the corresponding organ, gland, or body part is stimulated toward more healthful functioning. The process encourages overall natural healing, circulation, and restores balance.
